PHABRIX® Rx500 Rasterizer

Boasting the lightest, ultra-slim profile available on the market today, PHABRIX®’s Rx Rack Mount Rasterizers offer a new modular answer to broadcast test and measurement.

The Rx rasterizers are unique in having an in-built OLED display allowing operators to see and select up to 99 presets. Template ‘presets’ can be built easily on screen in real-time if required using the mouse and keyboard control. All instruments are viewed via the HDMI/SDI output to a separate monitor at 1920 x 1080 providing a multi-viewer of instruments – each simultaneously updated in real- time.

For such a small profile the 1U half-rack Rx500 has plenty of power. Boasting the same tool set throughout the range, the Rx500 is a perfect solution where space is minimal. This small power house can be fitted with physical layer test and measurement modules providing 4 simultaneous SDI channels with optical support. An internal whisper-quiet fan and clever extruded airflow profiles make this instrument cool in so many ways.

As with all of the instruments provided in the Rx range, the more modules inserted into the chassis, the more cost effective this solution becomes for both audio and video test and measurement. As each new module is attached, the system will automatically seek its unique identity and make the changes to access new features within the menu structure. In addition, the Rx platform can be further enhanced with a range of software options available for these instruments. A simple software code will unlock these items at any time.

Under the terms of PHABRIX® WARRANTY an End User will be able to claim under the warranty for any defect in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original delivery to the End User.  Under the terms of the warranty, PHABRIX® will supply replacement parts for those which prove defective and warranty labor if the defective equipment is returned freight prepaid either to PHABRIX® or to an approved service depot.   The warranty does not include responsibility for any transportation or handling damage.

Please remember that the battery, screen, the SFP cage and the SFP modules are not part of the warranty agreement. Details of the warranty can be found in the documentation supplied with your product.

The warranty shall not apply IF:

a) PHABRIX® finds that the Product or its Component Parts have been altered by unauthorized personnel.

b) the End User installs in the Product, parts not made or supplied by PHABRIX®, except such components specified by PHABRIX®.

c) the Product was used or installed in a manner other than in accordance with PHABRIX®’s instructions.

d) the Unit is opened by the End User.

PHABRIX® RxM-A (PHRXM-A)

The SINGLE ANALYZER, DUAL INPUT module allows two physically connected SDI or Optical* Video Signals to be monitored by a single analyzer channel in the form of Picture, Waveform, and Vectorscope monitor windows.  The analysis tools provided with this module are essential to ensure image quality and conformity of an increasingly large number of possible video formats, frame rates and color spaces.

 

PHABRIX® RxM-AE (PHRXM-AE)

The SINGLE ANALYZER, DUAL INPUT WITH EYE module allows two physically connected SDI or Optical* Video Signals to be monitored by a single analyzer channel in the form of Picture, Waveform, Vectorscope and Eye Pattern windows.  The Eye Analysis included with this module is a highly sophisticated tool that is essential to detect the levels of jitter present in the SD-SDI, HD-SDI or 3G-SDI video signal.

 

PHABRIX® RxM-AG (PHRXM-AG)

PHABRIX® RxM-GDL (PHRXM-GDL)

The DUAL GENERATOR module allows the generation of dual SDI or Optical* Video Test Signals for Dual Link or 3G-SDI applications.  The  generator provides a dual video/audio signal generator that can be set to any one of 32, 10-bit (12-bit**) line-based, pathological or zone plate test signals as well as user defined test signals.  These dual outputs are locked together with the same video format and frame rate but can have different test patterns, if desired.

 

PHABRIX® RxM-4AES (PHRXM-4AES)

The AES INPUT & OUTPUT module has been designed for AES audio centric installations and allows 4 x AES digital audio pairs to be routed to the Audio Meter and Loudness instruments.  This module can also be used to output 4 x AES digital audio pairs from the selected analyzer/generator module within the Rx chassis.

 

PHABRIX® RxM-DOLBY (PHRXM-DD)

The DOLBY DECODE module is a mezzanine board for the CPU module that decodes 1 (standard) or 2 (optional) channels of Dolby E, Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus into base band audio channels that can monitored and heard.

 

PHABRIX® RxM-DBUNDLE (PHRXM-DBUNDLE)

This special DOLBY BUNDLE configuration combines the Dolby Decode Module (PHRXM-DD), the 4AES Module (PHRXM-4AES), and the Dolby Metadata Analysis Software option (PHRXO-BDA).  This combined module is ideal for audio-centric installations and where Dolby E, Dolby Digital, and Dolby Digital Plus is present.

PHABRIX® OP Rx 3G (PHRXO-3G) – Now Includes 2K and Advanced Formats

The 3G-SDI AND ADVANCED FORMATS upgrade for Rx chassis option provides advanced formats including 4:2:2 YUV, 4:4:4 RGB and 4:4:4 YUV at 10 or 12 bits and 3G Level A and B.  This option now includes support for 2K advanced formats, such as 4:2:2 Y’C’bC’r, 4:4:4 R’G’B’ and 4:4:4 Y’C’bC’r at 10-12 bits as well as 4:4:4 X’Y’Z’ at 12-bit.  For broadcast manufacturers this option allows rigorous testing of many more formats beyond the standard signals used in traditional broadcasting.

 

PHABRIX® OP Rx DATADP (PHRXO-SD)

The HD/SD SDI DATA ANALYZER AND ANCILLARY PACKET ANALYZER option provides the engineer with a detailed view of the data words contained within the SDI stream.  This allows the analysis of complex faults and is particularly useful when determining compatibility issues between equipment and when debugging new product developments particularly in an R&D environment.

 

PHABRIX® OP Rx DOLBY AN (PHRXO-BDA)

The DOLBY ANALYSIS option displays the Dolby E, Dolby Digital or Dolby Digital Plus meta data present in a selected audio stream and determines whether the Dolby-E packet is timed correctly on the SDI video stream. The Dolby may be monitored from any of the SDI input embedded audio channel pairs or the AES input. Peak audio levels metering is also displayed.

 

PHABRIX® OP Rx DOLBY GEN (PHRXO-BDG)

The DOLBY GENERATION option includes the ability to adjust the “Start of Frame” for Dolby D/D+/E packets.  Dolby streams are provided for all program configurations with fixed audio data.  Metadata can be edited by the user and stored in memories.

 

PHABRIX® OP Rx EYE & JITTER (PHRXO-EA)

The ADVANCED PHYSICAL LAYER ANALYSIS option adds an additional jitter screen, plus enhancements to the eye display.  The extra features added to the Eye and Jitter module are focused toward broadcast manufacturers who have a need for high end analysis tools.  Histograms, decade filters, multiple eye display, full screen jitter display, alignment and timing thermometers are available with comprehensive logging.

 

PHABRIX® OP Rx 4LOU (PHRXO-4LOU)

The 4-CHANNEL LOUDNESS option allows up to 4 channels of loudness metering and monitoring to be performed by the Rx unit (1 loudness channel per analyzer module).  The tools provided in the Loudness window for each channel allow the loudness of the selected stereo audio pair or 5.1 surround audio group to be measured and logged.

 

PHABRIX® OP Rx 4CAP (PHRXO-4CAP)

The CLOSED CAPTION option allows up to 4 channels of closed caption to be displayed. This is allocated as one channel per analyzer module.  This provides support for WTS/OP42/OP47, EIA 608 and EIA 708 closed caption / subtitle formats. The specific closed caption type to be displayed can be selected from the Caption Options menu.
